PHOTOGRAPHY

I own a Canon 60D kit and I enjoy shooting whenever I get a chance. I've been learning photography since 5 years now and the camera is a companion whenever I am off to travel. Below are selected favourites of mine that I've clicked over the years.

Red

This image was taken in Hemis Monastery in Laddakh, Kashmir. This was one picture from a sequence of 10 burst images.

First Sight

Laddakh is an amazing place to shoot. This image was taken as we were turning and we saw the first glimpse of the enchanting Pangong Lake. Due to the height of the Laddakh region, the skies appear darker than skies near sea level.

Pangong Tso

The enchanting Pangong lake in it's full glory. In local stories, the lake is said to change it's colour from blues to light purple shades as different angle sunlight fall on it during different hours of the day.

Milky Way

Pangong lake is on a high altitude and is far from human settlements and electricity is turned of during the night after 10PM. This makes it a perfect place to observe the night sky in all its glory. I was lucky enough to witness the Milky Way clouds right in front off my eyes in the beautiful Pangong Night sky. The sky was like this for a good 2 hours before moon set in to steal the show.

Vishwashanti

This is my college campus. I went to the highest vantage point early in the morning to capture this clip. There were days during my 5th semester when I didn't sleep and then I used to go to this place very often to watch this beautiful view. Last year they put a gaurd here and now it's very difficult to sneak past him and climb the building terrace.

Dam

Our campus is besides river Mula Mutha and there's a damn built over it. The dam lies inside the college campus. This long exposure was taken at around 9PM with my Canon 60D. The exposure time was ~25 seconds. The orange haze in the background are the small forest fires behind our college campus.
